The National (or Common) Standards movement is the latest in the long history of schemes to mold children into one easily manageable mass. Let’s require the people promoting this scheme to prove they’re qualified to hold their positions by their own standards. If you’re fed up with the efforts of politicians and reformers to destroy creativity, individuality and diversity, copy this petition to your governor (see link below) and everyone you know who is also concerned. We are not collecting signatures — we’re just spreading the word.

DECLARATION:

We, the people, hereby declare that all adults proposing, supporting, legislating or funding common academic standards must prove their own fitness by passing comprehensive tests in said standards before standards are permitted to pass into law or policy.
